Lacombe country singer Gord Bamford will perform a free hometown concert this month to benefit several local charities.

Everyone is welcome to the Sunday, June 13, Family Fun Day concert, hosted by Lacombe Ford, which will also feature Kids’ Zone games, face-painting and a bouncing castle on the grounds of the dealership.

Onsite activities will raise donations for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Lacombe, the Lacombe Athletic Park Association, and the Lacombe Volunteer Fire Department.

Admission will be a voluntary donation to the Gord Bamford Foundation or to the local food bank, say organizers, who are hoping to fill up a Ford vehicle with non-perishable food items.

“It’s an opportunity for the community to come together, support some good causes, and hear some great music,” said Darren Gagnon, general manager of Lacombe Ford. “We think it will be a great way to spend the afternoon . . . and we are very pleased to be hosting it.”

Gates open at noon, with the concert spotlighting Bamford and special guests starting at 1:30 p.m.
