The Edmonton folk band F&M promises to bring some art, noir, rock and Russian musical influences to the city.

The Edmonton folk band F&M promises to bring some art, noir, rock and Russian musical influences to the city.

The baroque-pop trio that performs Saturday at the Velvet Olive believes a blend is best — especially when it comes to music.

Singer-songwriters Rebecca and Ryan Anderson, along with multi-instrumentalist/production virtuoso Bryan Reichert, pool their talents to create an amalgam of folk, rock and classical pop that’s mingled with multiple influences.

F&M’s signature melodic sounds were captured on the releases Let Every Light Shine, Every Light Must Fade and Wish You Were Here.

The band continues making emotive musical observations from an international viewpoint on the latest release, At Sunset We Sing.

The album, due out on Nov. 4, is described as “a joyful melancholy celebration of life.”
