Kat Danser will entertain an Red Deer audience this week with her laid-back, funky rhythms and thought-provoking lyrics.
The Edmonton roots and gospel singer will bring her “swamp blues” to the Velvet Olive lounge on Friday night.
With her lap-style slide guitar and resonant vocals, Danser plans to draw a direct line from the Mississippi Delta to the Prairies, and serve up traditional music with a 21st century twist.
Danser, who’s working on her third release, Rails and Rivers, will perform at the Velvet Olive, 4928 Ross St. (entrance off the back alley), at about 9 p.m.
