Central Alberta troubadour Bill Bourne is throwing a CD release party for his latest album, Free Radio Dance Band, at The Vat in Red Deer on Friday, March 25. The multiple Juno Award-winning musician has put together an “intense” collection of rock, folk, and country tunes that are soaked with an electric blues sound. The album was recorded in April in Edmonton and marks a milestone in his career.
Bill collaborated with his son, electric guitar player Pat Bourne, and his artist daughter, Emily, who designed and painted the album cover. In addition to Bill’s acoustic guitar and vocals, Free Radio Dance Band features Pa Joe on jazz guitar, Moses Gregg on bass, and Miguel Ferrer on drums. The Red Deer concert is part of a southwestern tour that will take Bourne to California and New Mexico.
