Henry VIII and his rebellious teenage daughter, Elizabeth, will be featured at Renaissance Feast and Dessert concerts held by the Red Deer Chamber Singers on Thursday and Friday.

King Henry, who was no slouch in the songwriting department, having created Greensleeves and other Renaissance ditties, will be taking his daughter’s musical tastes to task at the two concerts at the Chalet at Westerner Park.

And the 30-member Red Deer Chamber Singers will perform some of Henry’s compositions, as well as The Bell Carol, We Three Kings, Peace, Peace and other musical selections from the golden era.

A non-alcoholic dessert night concert will be held from 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tickets are $25.

The five-course feast will be held from 7 p.m. on Friday. Tickets are $65 or $450 for a table of eight. To reserve, call Ruth Galarneau at 403-346-7247.
