Sofa So Good, a new clown show for adults on Friday and Saturday at The Matchbox, explores the perils of cohabitation.

This sequel to the 2009 hit Why Do Fools Fall in Love?, from Edmonton’s Small Matters Productions, takes the saga of Rocket and Sheshells to the next level.

The clowns who met and fell for each other in the original installment make the big decision to move in together in this one. When Rocket finds a sofa for their little home, he and Sheshells can’t believe their luck — until the piece of furniture reveals its dark side.

The clown couple discover that sharing a home can be a complicated, even dangerous matter, threatening their happiness — even their very lives.

Sofa So Good, which contains mature themes and sexual content, premiered at the 2010 Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival to full houses and standing ovations.

“Rocket and Sheshells are that rare thing in the world of clown duos — the perfect match,” said Jan Henderson, who directed the production that was also created by the two performers, Christine Lesiak and Adam Keefe.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. shows are $15 ($12 students/seniors) from The Matchbox box office.
