Drama festival starts

Drama lovers can indulge in 26 local plays during the Zone 4 High School Drama Festival at Hunting Hills High School starting today.The Zone 4 festival includes plays from Hunting Hills, Lindsay Thurber and Notre Dame high schools in Red Deer, as well as H.J. Cody (Sylvan Lake) and West Central High School (Rocky Mountain House).

Drama lovers can indulge in 26 local plays during the Zone 4 High School Drama Festival at Hunting Hills High School starting today.

The Zone 4 festival includes plays from Hunting Hills, Lindsay Thurber and Notre Dame high schools in Red Deer, as well as H.J. Cody (Sylvan Lake) and West Central High School (Rocky Mountain House).

Plays range in length from about 20 minutes to about an hour. Play titles include: Postponing The Heat Death of the Universe, The Zoo Story, Not Enough Rope, A Matter of Husbands, To Burn a Witch, 13 Ways to Screw Up Your College Interview, When God Comes to Breakfast and Take Five.

The four-day festival runs today to Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $5 per day.

The best four plays will be selected to represent the zone at the provincial drama festival at Red Deer College on May 8, 9 and 10.
