Eyes on Ivan, an Edmonton folk band borne out of Maritime influences and the notion of following one’s heart, will perform this weekend in Red Deer.
Eyes on Ivan was formed by Cory Dee, the keyboardist for Owls by Nature. Dee decided to pursue his Maritime roots to create heartfelt, simple and pure music with the new group.
“Sometimes it’s only in leaving everything and everyone we know behind that we are able to come back to who and what we were all along,” said Dee, who gained a clearer vision of what Eyes on Ivan could be with the help of producer Jay Sparrow.
The new band is releasing its debut EP Way of the Fool this week.
