The June Bugs will deliver the “heart-piercing” magic of acoustic music and five-part harmonies on Friday at The Hub in downtown Red Deer.
From upbeat gospel to saucy bluegrass and traditional folk, The June Bugs’ music reflects the performers’ shared passion for songs rife with colourful imagery and powerful melodies.
The June Bugs are: Renay Eng-Fisher on upright bass, Sue Anne Borer on auto harp and percussion, Audrey Guagliano on guitar, mandolin and harmonica, Christie Simmons on guitar, whistles and banjo, and Tasha Zboya on the fiddle.
The group’s CD release concert starts at 7 p.m. Sales from refreshments will benefit the Loaves and Fishes soup kitchen.
Tickets are $10 at the door or in advance from The Hub at 4936 Ross St. For more information, call 403-340-4869.
