The final concert of the school year for the RDC music program will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 9, at the Arts Centre Mainstage.

On the Swing Spring program are some energetic tunes associated with the best big bands in history. Among them are Sammy Nestico’s Switch in Time (made popular by the Count Basie Big Band), Kurt Weill’s Mack the Knife (Duke Ellington Big Band), and Josef Zawinul’s Mercy, Mercy, Mercy (Buddy Rich Big Band).

The Percussion Ensemble will perform Blue Rondo a la Turk, by Dave Brubeck, Log Cabin Blues, by George H. Green, and Why Not! by Camillo, Eigenberg and Koski, among other selections.

Tickets are $11.25 ($9.25 RDC staff or $8.25 children/students/seniors) from Ticketmaster.
