Local pianist extraordinaire Curtis Labelle is the special guest for this month’s Bull Skit! comedy nights tonight and Saturday.

Labelle, the brains behind Red Deer’s Got Talent and the owner of the Labelle Studio of Music, has helped bring a lot of local musicals to the stage as a producer or actor, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat.

He’ll be joined for the sketch, improv and live music show at The Scott Block by guest host Brett Lemay, a Red Deer College Theatre Studies graduate who recently relocated to Edmonton.

As well, there’s the usual cast of zanies: The Bull Skit! regulars are Whitney Grace, Amy Erlandson, Matt Dale, Jeremy Robinson, and Jenna Goldade.

This week’s shows, inspired by Calgary’s Loose Moose and Edmonton’s Die-Nasty comedy troupes and Saturday Night Live, will be taped for later webcast on www.atwtheatre.com.

(As an aside, some of the Bull Skit! gang are also regularly appearing on Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. at improv nights at Cheers North. And those in the audience of this week’s Bull Skit! will get a password that reduces the $5 admission at Cheers North).

Those in the audience tonight and Saturday will also get to vote for their favourite Bull Skit! sketches or improvs, which will then be performed at a Best-of Bull Skit! show on April 23 and 24.

Tickets to Bull Skit! are $18 ($15 for students/ seniors) at the door or from Ticketmaster. Doors (and cash bar) open at 7 p.m., show is at 8 p.m. at 103, 4816 50th Ave., Red Deer.
