Singers Donna Durand and Sharon and Sadie Braun will be among the local women raising their voices for African AIDS victims during a benefit concert and silent auction on Sunday afternoon in Red Deer.

The Mosaic Muse fundraiser celebrating women in the arts will be held at 2 p.m. at the Sunnybrook United Church, 12 Stanton St.

It’s being presented by GrammaLink-Africa, a charity that evolved from the mutual affinity between Canadian grandmothers and their counterparts in Africa.

The fundraising event will start with a silent auction and a sale of artworks. Refreshments will also be available. All proceeds will be donated to the Stephen Lewis Foundation to help turn the tide on HIV and AIDS in Africa.

A 2:30 p.m. concert will follow, featuring Durand, the Brauns, Hearts in Harmony and Monica Wilson.

Tickets are $15 at the door or in advance from Comforts the Sole, City Roast Cafe, or by calling Chris at 403-347-2776.
