TORONTO — Johnny Reid leads the field with six nominations for this year’s Canadian Country Music Association awards, and is up for top single, album, songwriter, video, male artist and the fans’ choice award.

The nominees for the awards show on Sept. 13 at GM Place in Vancouver were announced today and it was revealed that actor Jason Priestley will host.

George Canyon and Victoria Banks have five nominations, while last year’s winner of the top new male talent award, Gord Bamford, has another four nominations this year.

Newcomer Dean Brody is also up for four awards including the Rising Star award and top single, video and songwriter.
