If you need a break from the Sylvan Lake beach on Saturday, you can check out some original art.
A group of Central Alberta artists and artisans are holding a one-day show and sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sylvan Lake Lion’s Club Hall, 5119-50A Ave (a block west of the Cobbs grocery store).
Hand-blown glass art, ceramics, forged metal work, stone and wood carvings, watercolour paintings, and jewelry will be available from the participating artists: Darren and Deb Petersen, Arne Handley, Donna and Brian Herrick, Dee Poisson, Mike Baker, Paul and Margaret Stone, and Betty and Pat Matheson.
Admission is free, coffee and snacks will be available, and everyone is invited to drop by.
