Symphonic Winds to present A Night at The Movies

A Night at the Movies is being presented by the Red Deer College Symphonic Winds and Red Deer Youth and Community Orchestra.

Music from the films Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Fantasia and other Walt Disney classics will be performed by the Symphonic Winds on Thursday, March 10 at the RDC Arts Centre.

Under the direction of Louise Stuppard, the Red Deer Youth and Community Orchestra will perform Gymnopedie No. 1 by Erik Satie, as well as the first movement from Beethoven’s third symphony — Eroica, Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings, and Jupiter from Gustav Holt’s Planets.

The two orchestras will join forces to perform The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Paul Dukas and The Lord of the Rings theme by Howard Shore.

Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. concert are $12 ($9 students/seniors) from Ticketmaster.
