Central Albertans who have shopped local for the holidays now have a chance to tune into some local entertainment.

County singer Alecia Aichelle and cowboy singer Ivan Daines, of Red Deer, have both have diverse music offerings out — just in time for the holidays.

Aichelle is sending out a big “Merry Christmas y’all” to her fans with her first official music video for the seasonal song, One Wish.

“I wrote One Wish from a very honest and heartfelt place, reflecting on my special memories of Christmases past,” said Aichelle.

“This Christmas, the pandemic has brought many uncertainties,” she added. “Christmas 2020 looks very different for many of us than past years but I truly believe that we need to be thankful for our loved ones who are still here and the time we have with them.”

Aichelle hopes listeners will enjoy her locally produced video for One Wish, which can be viewed on YouTube.

Those who like their Christmas to come with a sprinkling of rodeo dust can check out Daines’ new Goin’ Back To Texas tune, which can also be heard on YouTube.

Goin’ Back to Texas was inspired by the Canadian Finals Rodeo, which is being held in Texas this year. But it’s really a love song to the Lone Star State: “Where the plains run forever, until they hit the great hill country…”

Daines’s latest tune is dedicated to “two fine rodeo cowboys from Montana we have lost” — Cleve Loney and Jim Jacobsen.
