Upbeat pop group Underside Pattern performs this week on Red Deer’s Ross Street Patio.

The fun and youthful indie band from Red Deer will entertain lunch-hour crowds from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, July 22 and 24.

Underside Pattern is made up of five members: vocalist Shaeane Jimenez, Corey Gomez on bass, Craig Gomez on guitar and keyboards, Johah Falk on guitar and Steven Wheeler on drums.

The band writes its own material, such as the sunny and melodic tune Brian Teaches Jonah, and also performs cover songs from favourite artists.

Underside Pattern has played around Central Alberta at various fundraisers, Earth Dance at The Hub, the Festival of Trees, the Westerner Days Parade, and Centrefest, among other events.

Another local group, the hip-hop duo Donatello, will entertain during the same noon-hour slot on the Patio on July 29 and 31.
