Writers’ Ink has published an anthology of poems and short stories by Red Deer-district authors that’s available around Central Alberta.
Among the Red Deer outlets carrying A Diction, a Collection of Poems and Stories, is Chapters, Sunworks, The Country Cupboard, the Sports Hall of Fame gift shop, and Red Deer Co-op.
It’s also sold at the Lacombe Co-op, Lady Bug Studio in Olds, Studio Arts in Innisfail. The book goes for from $10 to $15 retail.
The local writing club is made up of about a dozen local writers, including former teachers Lyle Meeres and Jock Mackenzie and other recognized community members, such as Margrit De Grass, a long-time Gull Lake campground operator.
Besides the local works featured in the book, there are also stories and poems by four award-winning authors who instructed at a Writers’ Ink workshop last spring.
They are the late Michael Van Rooy of Winnipeg, Faye Reineberg Holt of Calgary, Joan Crate, a Red Deer College instructor who lives in Calgary, and Lyle Weis of Beaumount.
