A GoFundMe fundraising appeal has been launched to help raise $20,000 for an Eckville-area farmer who lost most of his sheep herd in a devastating fire.
According to the GoFundMe page, Ethan Kalev lost most of his sheep, including all his rams, 70 ewes and 120 lambs in a fire early last Friday.
"These sheep were his passion and a huge source of his income," reads the appeal created by Denver Kalev.
"Ethan is only 20 years old, hard working and dedicated to his animals. He had three years of working hard and building his herd when this happened. He’s been putting in endless hours lambing since Christmas and currently attending college.
"Any help would be greatly appreciated if all you can contribute is sharing this, the more people it reaches the better."
The GoFundMe page can be found under "Ethan rebuild his sheep herd after the devastating fire."
As of Tuesday afternoon, nearly $4,000 had been raised towards the $20,000 goal.
