Thieves broke into central Alberta country music star God Bamford's truck on Wednesday outside a Calgary hotel and stole numerous items including a guitar and cowboy hat.

Bamford took to his Facebook page on Wednesday to report the overnight theft and ask fans to keep an eye out for his items online or at pawn shops.

Bamford said his vintage grey Smithbilt cowboy that was in a case has a unique shape. "So if you see anybody wearing it let me know."

"Thanks again folks for all the help out there. Hopefully, we can catch these people from stealing stuff. Well, the worst thing I hate is lying and stealing. So the guys or the people that have my stuff, I hope you're seeing this," said Bamford, who was raised in Lacombe and still lives in central Alberta.

Also stolen was a Morgan guitar in an SKB case, a grey Smithbilt cowboy hat in a hat case, a hockey bag full of merchandise, and other items, including three pairs of UGG boots he brought back from Australia for his wife and children.

Anyone who has any information can reach Bamford at gordbamford.com or Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234 or Calgary Crime Stoppers.

People can also contact their local RCMP detachment. To remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the "P3 Tips" app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
