RDC student association president resigns

Ben Fleury takes over after Maryanne McGrath steps down

Red Deer College has a new student association president after the resignation of former student leader Maryanne McGrath.

Earlier this week, McGrath stepped down from the top position with the student executive for personal reasons, ending her term a few month early.

Ben Fleury, formerly the association’s vice-president of college affairs, is taking over in the student president’s position until the term expires on April 30.

Fleury will continue working with the student association’s vice-president operations, Nonso Onwuekwe and vice-president student life, Aiden Bridger, to advocate for student issues, such as more affordable tuition and getting new degree-granting, polytechnic status for the college.
