Red Deer Symphony Orchestra will perform its second Main Series concert of this season Nov. 16 at Red Deer Polytechnic Arts Centre.
Suite Serenade pairs music by groundbreaking African-American composer Florence Price with Grammy Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan and featuring an original arrangement by RDSO's own Claude Lapalme.
Gustav Holst's St. Paul's Suite, a throwback to English folk tunes, and Josef Suk's evocative and sunny Serenade for Strings will round out the evening's program.
"As Red Deer’s largest and longest-running professional performing arts organization, the RDSO specializes in high-calibre performances that appeal to a wide range of audiences, offering concertgoers the musical quality of big-city orchestras without the big-city price tag," says the orchestra.
Tickets to all RDSO events are available online at www.rdso.ca, by phone at 403-346-0021 and in person at the RDSO office, which is located at 4807 50 Ave. and is open Tuesday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30p.m.
