Two people were arrested in Red Deer after a vehicle theft was reported in Sylvan Lake on Wednesday.

According to Red Deer City RCMP, a car fitting the description of one that was stolen from Sylvan Lake earlier on Wednesday was observed in a Glendale alley in Red Deer.

Police arrested two people three hours later, at about 1 p.m., after they exited the vehicle and were seen walking towards a residence.

A 19-year-old Red Deer woman was charged with possessing stolen property over $5,000 and other criminal charges, including failing to comply. A 29-year-old Red Deer man was charged with two counts of failing to comply.

They will appear in court in January.
