Games come down to the wire in draw 5 at Curling Alberta Women's Provincial Championship

Thursday was an exciting day of curling in Rimbey

Janais DeJong scored a thrilling 12-10 victory in extra ends in draw 5 of the Curling Alberta Women's Provincial Championships in Rimbey. 

DeJong's rink topped Kayleigh Shannon after Shannon scored three in the 10th end to tie the game at 10 and force the extra end. Dejong's side scored two to win the game in the extra end. 

Kayla Skrlik earned a dominant 10-4 victory over Myla Plett. Skrlik scored singles in the fifth and sixth end, before adding four in the seventh, another single in the eighth and two more in the ninth to close out the game. 

Robyn Silvernagle earned another victory Thursday night, edging Gracelyn Richards 8-7 with a single in the 10th end. 

Michelle Hartwell also picked up a win Thursday, closing out a 10-8 win over Keelie Duncan with two in the 10th end. 

In the Friday morning draw, Hannah Phillips will play Kayleigh Shannon, with Nicky Kaufman set to battle Myla Plett. Claire Booth will also play Elliot Martens in draw 6, with all games set to being at 8:30 a.m.
