Leduc RCMP say they're responding to multiple motor vehicle collisions on Queen Elizabeth II Highway and are asking drivers to use extreme caution on the roads.

A bulletin was released by Alberta RCMP shortly before 11 a.m. on March 13.

"RCMP are asking, if you do not have to travel, please stay home," said RCMP public information officer Lindsay McNab. "If you must travel, RCMP are reminding road users to use extreme caution, slow down and maintain an increased distance between yourself and other drivers.

"Motorists are asked to ensure they check Alberta 511 before any travel throughout the day for the most up-to-date highway conditions and plan their travel accordingly. Re-routes are to be expected if collisions do occur on major highways."
