A man charged with second-degree murder after a woman was found dead in Red Deer last October has a June 2018 trial date.

Jordan Koizumi, 25, of Red Deer, was charged by police after the body of Tina Marie-Pfeiffer, 50, was discovered in a West Park home on Oct. 27, 2016.

While on scene, police received a report of a man who was nearby and walking down the street in his underwear. Officers made a patrol and took Koizumi into custody.

A court-ordered psychological report has been done to assess whether the accused should be held criminally responsible for Marie-Pfeiffer’s death. It has yet to be reviewed by the Crown prosecutor’s office.

A pre-trial conference has been set for May when the Crown is expected to provide its opinion on the accused’s criminal responsibility.

In the meantime, a trial has been scheduled for June 11-29, 2018.
