On March 19, a group of young males were involved in an altercation outside of the school grounds on Ecole Lacombe Junior High School, which continued onto the school's property.
"During this incident, one individual, who is not a student at the school, displayed a knife and caused damage to the school door," according to a Lacombe Police Service release.
"Fortunately, there were no injuries reported"
School staff promptly contacted law enforcement and implemented safety protocols to ensure the safety of the students and staff.
On male youth was arrested and charged with the following offences:
• SEC 88(1) CC – possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
• SEC 430(1)(a) CC – mischief – damage to property
• SEC 264.1(1) CC – uttering threats
Police say that as this matter is before is before the courts, no further information will be released at this time.
