Metchooyeah made the 12-hour road trip from the northern Alberta town to do some Christmas shopping and pay a visit to her daughter in Sylvan Lake this week. Volunteers from CAWES will be at the mall until Christmas Eve taking donations and wrapping gifts at their booth.

Here a cross country skier makes his way through Heritage Ranch on Friday afternoon. Volunteer track-setters have worked hard to take what little snow has fallen in the area and set ski tracks from Great Chief Park to Heritage Ranch.
