We have an excellent health-care system in this country, but I believe it is being misused — especially when I hear it expressed, “Go to the doctor or go to emergency, it does not cost anything.”
Now why not have some form of user fee every time we use any medical facility, a fee that everyone can afford? If only to create a sense of personal responsibility, it would be a great advantage. And now as we are expecting all this huge government deficit, I believe that this user fee would be an excellent method to help out in this matter.
Does not our food, clothing, and shelter come as a necessity of life before health care, and we do pay for them?
