This is in regards to the man who lost his cat due to a car hitting it.
I am also a cat lover and it breaks my heart to hear about a cat dying because the owner did not love it enough to keep it safe.
How dare he blame the driver of the car? The cat should not have been allowed to run free as this is not a wild animal. The cat should have been leashed in the safety of your back yard.
A person likely opened that door and let the cat out, and the cat paid the ultimate price.
Cat owners who let their pets out should be charged with animal cruelty and the Red Deer cat bylaw.
If you talk to veterinarians, they will tell you that a cat does not have to run free. They are more than happy to live their lives in the safety of their home and that for sure they have a much longer life if they do.
I just start to shake when I see a cat or dog loose on the street as I do not want to be a witness to their death or, God forbid, if it would run out in front of my car and I would be the one to take the innocent life .
This cat more than likely ran out and the driver did not have a chance to stop.
No, the cat’s blood is on the cat owner’s hands.
He should never be allowed to own another dog or cat, if he can’t be more responsible.
