City can do better on snow removal

For the city to ask for more money for snow removal is a joke. I don’t think we have had more snow this last year than a normal year, so if they don’t have the money, then that falls on the person responsible for budgeting in the first place.

Also, the person that made the decision to have two graders and a pickup truck out on New Year’s Day to remove the snow on the half block (and they only cleared half a block) in front of my house should be removed from that job and given a snow shovel.

This was the first time this winter that they have removed snow on my street — and they waited until a stat holiday? They probably had to pay double time and a half.

Thirdly, why can’t the sanding/plough trucks do two things on one trip? I see these trucks plough the streets (with sand in the back) and then turn around and make a second trip on the same street to spread sand. They can cut the spending in half right there.
