Fears around missing cats

Before I let you know of a serious concern, let me first mention that I am fully aware of the cat bylaw in Red Deer.

Before I let you know of a serious concern, let me first mention that I am fully aware of the cat bylaw in Red Deer.

Within the last six weeks, over six cats in my area of Deer Park have gone missing, my cat included.

All of these cats are creatures of habit and family pets, who stay in or around the owner’s property. I believe that someone is trapping them and torturing and/or killing them.

Yes, this is a big statement, but it is too coincidental that all the cats that have gone missing have never left home before.

I can only speak about my own cat. She was 14 years old. I have had her from a kitten and she is (or was) a family member, and has never wandered off.

My children are distraught, as am I. If you know anything about these missing cats, or know if anyone has hurt them, please let me know. I want to be able to stop having to search for her every night, and if it is bad news then at least we can move on.
