Good service often overlooked

In response to recent comments in the media about the lack of customer service available these days, I’d like to stand up for those of us in the business.

In response to recent comments in the media about the lack of customer service available these days, I’d like to stand up for those of us in the business.

I have been in the service industry for 21 years. In that time, I have seen more than a letter to the editor can express and it’s not all aimed at my fellow service workers but at those we serve.

I’m sorry if you’re having a bad day, but don’t take it out on us. The person who cut you off before you came into my place of business wasn’t me.

We have to be nice and polite all day or night, depending on where one works, and it’s not easy to keep a smile on your face when you’re looked down upon for trying to do the best you can.

Most of us in the service industry are not plumbers, carpenters, electricians, chefs, etc. We are just like you, doing the best we can.

So when you get good service tell the person and make their day.

The saying is sure true that bad service gets the people talking, but good service is always overlooked.
