Greenwood misses mark

Bill Greenwood (in a column in the Advocate on Jan. 20) seems to think that the ethanol lobby is nothing but a bunch of environmentalists.

Actually, the lobby is nothing more than a bunch of hogs at the trough of government largesse.

They generally come from Iowa (in the heart of the corn belt) and one of the biggest lobbying firms is headed by a former Bush cabinet member, Jim Nussle.

As for Bill’s fondness for factory farms, I would simply advise him to google the term and look at some of the horrific images. Then he might also ponder why these places exist on a continent that has a very significant problem with obesity.
