Help in sorting candidates

John Stewart’s list of “things for electors to consider as they examine candidates for the upcoming municipal election and their platforms” is good advice (editorial, Friday, Sept. 17).

However, for most individuals, doing the research necessary to be an informed citizen is an undertaking that even those with the time and interest would find challenging.

I hope the Red Deer Advocate in particular, and the local media in general, will assist the citizens of Red Deer in making thoughtful decisions when they vote by undertaking tasks listed by Stewart and publishing the results during the next few weeks.

I would look forward to reading this type of content in the Advocate. It would certainly demonstrate to me that the Advocate is committed to serving the community with local information that meets criteria of ‘in depth’ and ‘substantial’ that I am not likely to find in other media.
