It’s good to point out cases of animal cruelty

Animal cruelty and abandonment is rampant, and I’m thankful the Advocate printed a story bringing this to the attention of its readers.

Re. the Jan. 14 news story, headlined Abandoned cat set a new low:

Animal cruelty and abandonment is rampant, and I’m thankful the Advocate printed a story bringing this to the attention of its readers.

I hope the Advocate can work even more closely with the Red Deer SPCA, Alberta SPCA and Animal Control to draw more public awareness to what is actually going on behind closed doors.
