Keep your cats to yourself; they kill birds and poop

Cat stories are falling on deaf ears . . . of the owners that is. Tracy Oake is heart broken over missing cats (Advocate ,Sept. 8).

There is the senior Olga Ferrer, who is now responsible for a cat family ( Advocate, Sept. 10). She should not have to look after or be responsible for euthanizing.

My story is that two years in a row we have had a wren family in our yard with five babies each time. Thanks to neighbourhood cats, the babies starved because the cats caught the mom and dad wrens. Up to five cats were lurking until they caught them.

If you love your cats, keep them home! Build a kennel for them.

Tracy says they stay around their home. How wrong. I have cats come through my yard winter and summer and they are out all night often. They poop in my flower beds — I can smell it — and now under my steps.

If people want cats, they can have them. I don’t want a cat so why do I have to tolerate your cat?
