Landlords taking advantage of tenants

I am only saying what many other renters are thinking: that with the way the economy is right now to be charging astronomical amounts for rent is just outrageous!

How are people that have lost their jobs, or are just trying to find a new place to live supposed to afford places with rent that is two times more that what it is really worth?

Landlords are charging rent like we live in Calgary or Vancouver.

No one is willing to cut anyone a break by lowering the rent.

At these times people need to start realizing that money does not grow on trees and that the oilfield is not pumping out money like a year ago.

This upsets me as a renter and as a member of the Red Deer community.

I see all this affordable income housing for low-income families, but who are helping the people that are just making ends meet renting?

And everyone wonders why there are so many people going to the food bank.

It’s either pay rent or put food on the table. Nowadays you just can’t seem to do both.
