Let’s treat our neighbours with respect and courtesy

I would like to look at it from a different perspective. How about, let’s treat our neighbours with mutual respect and courtesy.Like Bolhuis, I too have had the joy of cleaning up after someone else’s furry feline, but it goes above and beyond that.

Re. Martin Bolhuis’ Sept. 25 letter, headlined Let’s treat cats like dogs:

I would like to look at it from a different perspective.

How about, let’s treat our neighbours with mutual respect and courtesy.

Like Bolhuis, I too have had the joy of cleaning up after someone else’s furry feline, but it goes above and beyond that.

My children are older now so the “gifts” left in the sandbox are no longer a concern; however, having to replace plants that have been ripped from my flowerbeds, clean mounds of dirt off my sidewalk and having to keep my windows closed because the smell of cat urine is so nauseating it is a concern.

Yes, it is my choice to put lovely soil in my flowerbeds versus shale, and shouldn’t it be?

So please pet owners, be responsible and keep your furry felines in your yard to rip up your flowerbeds, leave you little gifts and mark their territory which is truly “their territory.”
