This is in response to the recent letter to the editor entitled Lovely travel photos written by Gy Siewert.
When I first started reading this letter I thought how nice it was that someone took a few minutes out of their day to comment positively about the photos in the Travel section submitted by Mr. and Mrs. Stockdale from their vacation in Africa.
It seems so often that people only write a letter to the editor voicing their negative thoughts and opinions about a particular subject, so it was refreshing to read something complementary.
Unfortunately, as I read further it was not meant to be a nice “good-feeling” type of letter, as the writer’s main objective was to criticize Debbie Olsen’s use of photos of her children in her travel articles.
I found this letter to be rude and mean-natured. I am still puzzled as to why someone would take time to write such a letter.
