I was relieved and impressed by your article, “Students the real adults at anti-immigrant protest” in Friday’s Red Deer Advocate. I found the article itself demonstrated responsible and professional journalism while decrying the insidious origin and impact of fake news. Furthermore, it portrayed accurately the young adults we get to work with each day here at Lindsay Thurber. I have the privilege of teaching Ursella Khan in my grade 12 English class. What you saw and heard from her is what she lives every day: compassion toward others.
Thank you for an article that presented a balanced view of a situation that was thrown out of balance by ignorance and fear.
