My son’s bicycle was stolen recently

My 11-year-old son was out riding his bike with two friends this past Saturday afternoon when they decided to go into the Deer Park Dairy Queen for a snack.

While they were snacking and able to see their bikes through the window, an older, teenaged boy jumped on my son’s bike and rode away (heading west from the Deer Park Plaza).

We called the police, but with the relative minor nature of the crime – the bike was worth $500 – this likely ranks low on the priority list for the RCMP.

My son saved the money he made delivering the Red Deer Advocate to buy his own bike, only this past May long weekend, and he is heartbroken.

If anybody is aware of a spare Eastern TrailDigger lime-green and chrome-coloured BMX-style bike near you, I would greatly appreciate its return, no questions asked.
