It will be wonderful to soon hear that Red Deer’s two old nursing homes are finally closed and all tenants have been relocated to delightful new accommodations at Michener Village. This is a beautiful building and all tenants will soon love their new surroundings and will feel “right at home’ and at no extra cost to tenants.
Regarding the recent letter from William Weiswasser, Protests ignored, in the Advocate on Aug. 16, and other recent letters that continue to harass readers about the supposed 230 seniors in urgent need of a nursing home bed — it is bunk! The actual number in urgent need is likely in the eight to 10 range.
But as usual, socialists and left-leaning liberals are all messed up in their thinking. Being chronic complainers, they say they speak for Alberta’s seniors. They don’t.
I’m only one, but I truly believe that most Alberta seniors are quite contented and very thankful that our voters will always vote right-wing.
To ridicule our MLA Mary Anne Jablonski is utter nonsense. Mary Anne is an excellent example of what a politician (and a parent) should be: informed, decisive, compassionate, warm-hearted and a natural leader.
