Nuclear power: Who gets the profit? Who pays for it all?

Let us all remember who profits by allowing nuclear power in Alberta. In all likelihood, most of the power will be transmitted through the new power lines just OK’d by the province — straight to the U.S.

Let us all remember who profits by allowing nuclear power in Alberta.

In all likelihood, most of the power will be transmitted through the new power lines just OK’d by the province — straight to the U.S.

We’ll pay to build the plant, we probably pay for the transmission lines in our outrageous power bills, we pay for the monitoring of the plants by government officials, we pay for clean up, and our environment will pay for waste injected back into Alberta.

It might be a different story if Albertans themselves had control (regulation) of the plant proposed and could keep the electricity produced here for Alberta; but as you know, this Conservative government sells everything we have to the highest bidder — regardless of the well-being of its citizens.
