Respect for veterans appreciated

The members of 703 (Central Alberta) Wing of the Airforce Association of Canada would like to acknowledge the support of Greg Scott, manager for Parks, Recreation and Culture, to change the hours of operation of recreation facilities in Red Deer for future Remembrance Days.

The members of 703 (Central Alberta) Wing of the Airforce Association of Canada would like to acknowledge the support of Greg Scott, manager for Parks, Recreation and Culture, to change the hours of operation of recreation facilities in Red Deer for future Remembrance Days. Recreation facilities in Red Deer won’t open until 1 p.m. on Nov. 11.

For many years, veterans groups have been lobbying for a change such as this and we thank Scott and the City of Red Deer for the recognition of the sacrifices of Veterans in Central Alberta.

We would also like to mention the extraordinary work done on the Veterans Park Memorial on Ross Street. It will be a lasting reminder of our history for generations to come.
