Save green space, refuse parking lot request

Regarding the request by Earls to purchase green zone so they can expand the parking lot.

Parks and Recreation object to this but sounds like Red Deer city council is considering it.

We are the guardians of the Earth, we must protest this. We must leave small carbon footsteps — once we destroy green spaces they can never be reclaimed.

This little oasis in the city lends ambiance and charm to eating on the patio at Earls.

If you need more parking, either move the restaurant, build up on the existing parkade — but leave the green space alone for other generations.

We as citizens of Red Deer need to speak up before all our green spaces are gone, replaced by concrete. The Capri is a fine example of concrete jungle.

Future generations will be singing “Where have all the trees gone, where have all the

birds gone, etc.”

I voted against all members of this council based on their lack of environmental responsibility.

Look out — we will have the road through Bower yet.
