Spend money at home first

Yesterday I was watching television and across the screen in bright red letters flashes a sign that informs us that there is one million Canadians who cannot afford both housing and food.

It has to be one or the other.

Then last night, I am watching the news and we get informed that we are giving Haiti $150 million in aid in cash.

I have no problem giving Haiti the money if we have it.

But I have one hell of a big problem if we have that kind of money laying around and a million people going without both housing and/or food.

I wonder if Stockwell Day can balance the books like he did here in Alberta and no Canadian faces these problems again?

Don’t knock it, a person is still allowed to dream isn’t he?
