Thanks for glimpse of life in Alberta

A dear and close friend of mine, and Red Deer resident tried to explain the glowing eyes in the forest to a city girl in Los Angeles. Words unfortunately were not enough to explain the incredible wildlife.

A dear and close friend of mine, and Red Deer resident tried to explain the glowing eyes in the forest to a city girl in Los Angeles. Words unfortunately were not enough to explain the incredible wildlife.

When she first saw the photograph of the cougar in the window (on Page A1 of the Saturday, May 22, Advocate, of a Rocky Mountain House family whose cat encountered a cougar through a window) she immediately phoned me to look up Feline faceoff online.

She said, “Ana! There it is, what I’ve been trying to describe to you, the glowing eyes! I had no idea cougars are so close to the ranch!”

I was in awe and amazed at the sight of such a striking creatures wandering so close to a home.

The only cougars we see in Los Angeles are on two legs.

I have not yet visited Red Deer, but I sure hear great stories. I do hope to be there one day and take in the Red Deer charm.

Thanks for the photograph and a glimpse of Red Deer life.

Totally loving Red Deer,
