On behalf of the Alzheimer Society staff, volunteers and planning committee, I would like to thank all who participated in the Making Sweet Memories, First Annual Gala for research.
As our local organization has a commitment to Alzheimer Canada for research, it is important for us to bring awareness and funds to this effort.
The way in which Red Deer citizens got behind this event is spectacular. More than $15,000 net was raised, as well as a ton of fun.
The celebrity waiters, all leaders in their industries, served the guests with creativity and gusto. Congratulations to Lyn Radford, who was awarded top celebrity waiter.
As research efforts regarding all aspects of dementia and care provision are becoming more aggressive, it means we all win! Many thanks for your participation at the gala, whether you were a committee member, media support, auction item donor, volunteer, a celebrity waiter, entertainer, or a dinner guest, you are appreciated and a valued member of the dementia care network! Here is to a world without Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia.
