Thief strikes memorial

The loss of a loved one hurts. I lost my wife in April 2009 and it is devastating to myself, my family and my friends.

The loss of a loved one hurts. I lost my wife in April 2009 and it is devastating to myself, my family and my friends.

A tree was planted in her memory by Parkland Funeral Home in a beautiful park on Gasoline Alley.

Many people have adorned their loved one’s tree with flowers, lights and mementos; something to represent life.

It is a beautiful area to visit and I cherish this park with great admiration.

To the person who came into this park with no shred of common decency or respect for others and stripped all the lighting from and around my wife’s tree, you are a common thief!

You will have noticed 36 velvet roses tied to that small string of LED lights; I tied them on there myself. My wife would have turned 36 in October 2009.

It’s not the monetary value, it’s the purpose of what these items mean to those who place them in this park.

As you sit looking at the lights you stole and not serving humanity in any good form, know you added to our grief.

Your day of reckoning is upon you!
